9:45 am Once the pit was big and deep enough, the sawdust was spread out to cover the entire bottom of the pit. It's best to use sawdust from hardwoods, as they contain less resins. Now was the time for any last minute decorating of the pots and sculptures before placing everything in the pit. With this many people, each contributing at least 10 pieces, things get a little crowded. Cooperation was the key word of the day. |

10:00 am Time was getting short, the fire needed to be lit by 10:30 if we were to stand a chance of getting out of there by the time our permit expired at 5:00 pm |

Notice the light colored sculpture just below the lady kneeling. It became the STAR of the firing as the day went on. |
